The Epilepsy Warrior. Maka’s fight started 2 years ago. Month after months the monster would come and shake our world for a night. Through research and lots of trial and error, we had a handle on the epilepsy beast that would show up. We had a system down and in place to keep Maka safe. Each time she would seize my vet would up one of her three meds. I had known this vet for 20 years, and I had never dealt with epilepsy before and let him take the lead. In June Maka went in for emergency spay surgery, she then had two more emergency trips. One for a potential blockage and the other was when her liver started to fail. The vet then decided that Maka should not exist anymore because he deemed that her life would be short anyway. I could not let that happen. Her eyes begged me to stay and continue to fight for her. I had euthanized many of my older dogs when I was younger and I know the eyes of a tired or hurt dog. Maka only showed ones filled with fight and vigor! And so with her death sentence given, we left and I went to research! I know I cant do this on my own! But due to all her vet trips and emergency bills, I am tapped out. Im not asking to help pay for future treatment or anything, but to help me remove these giant vet bills so I may pay for more treatment by a specialist! Thank you for reading our story and helping us fight our fight.
