PLEASE SUPPORT MR. JONGA UNDERGO OVERSEAS MEDICAL TREATMENT
Friends and family of Mr. Makaireh Jonga alias Max in consultation with PURA have embarked on a fund-raising to solicit financial support to evacuate Mr. Jonga overseas for medical treatment, which would include a kidney transplant. The friends and family of Makaireh wish to acknowledge the continuous support of PURA over the years to pay for Mr Makaireh’s treatment and they continue to do so.
Mr. Jonga still works at PURA, but has been battling with the ailment for years now. PURA has helped seek and paid for medical treatments for him both in The Gambia and in Senegal. His ailment now urgently requires further treatment beyond Senegal. Therefore, there is a need for financial support to complement the support being rendered by PURA whose budget is limited. Although PURA has just initiated and secured a medical insurance scheme recently, Mr. Jonga’s situation is a pre-existing condition and cannot be fully covered under any medical insurance policy. Thus the need for his family and close friends to intervene and work with PURA towards obtaining sufficient funding to treat his ailment which has been rapidly deteriorating recently and hence the need for urgent overseas treatment.
We therefore entreat all good Samaritans at home and in the diaspora to support either in cash or kind to save the life of a hard-working family man and gentleman. PURA will endeavor as much as possible to supplement on its own and via the insurance to complete the funds collected through this GoFundMe, to help pay for his required medical treatment and other bills.
