Hey there.

My names Daniel Kelly. I have a best buddy in the whole world named Majora. I got him when he was 8 weeks old im 2017 and he and I have been completely inseparable since! I love him with all my heart.

Recently in the last 2 or so months - he started to act abnormal. Low energy, listlessness, depressive behaviour and lethargy. One day it got so bad, I found him in the backyard almost unresponsive entirely and I rushed him to my vet.

Approx 2 months has gone by, along with enormous vet bills totaling around 10 grand, plus meds, emergency room visits etc. etc. and he's been diagnosed with Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia, AND Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. Basically big spaceman words for his immune system decided to obliterate his blood. There have been no underlying causes identified and appears to be idiopathic, or 'random and out of the blue.

I've never asked for any charity help before, and I'm pretty embarrassed, I can't help it. I don't know what to do though. He has been slotted in for Monday Fed 22nd at Guelph Animal Hospital or OVC (its also a university) for a full diagnostic 3-5 day monitoring. It's amazing that they were even kind enough to slot him in on such short notice as I was told this was highly unlikely. Luckily, I guess, an internal medicine specialist from there has already seen him at our vet for an ultrasound and I'd like to think maybe that's why they've slotted him in. That Dr. described him as "sweet" in the diagnostic. Obviously I couldn't agree more.

I really didn't want to throw a big wall of text here; so the meat of the matter is - I was quoted approx 4-6 grand for this treatment. That was described as a 'rough' estimate, which could easily be much higher depending on his responses to treatment. I'll link all his bloodwork and the emails from the vet so anyone can take a look at this info.

I love him very very much. He got me through 2018 which was the hardest year of my life when I experienced a form of Encephalitis that came very close to ending my life. He was my rock.

I'm hesitant to even make this GoFundMe as I've told my instagram followers who have been amazing in their well wishes and positive energy-- because I know how much of an ask or a 'long shot' this is.. Honestly I don't know if I can take much more disappointment. If it wasn't for my grandmother dying at the end of Nov. 2020, I wouldn't even have been able to afford as much as I've spent so far and I'm fully aware that many people are in this same boat - or worse with this added pandemic on top of it.

It's asking a lot. I'm embarrassed. I don't know what else to say.

But I have to try for Majora.

Thanks for reading. If you can contribute, thank you beyond my ability to ever express, and if not, that's okay too. A prayer for my fluffy guy is just as appreciated.

Love,
Daniel
