Public Insurance Adjuster, Jim Abramson and his wife, Donna were both seriously injured in an automobile accident while they were traveling to the FAPIA Spring Conference for continuing education on June 1, 2019.
It was a horrific accident that closed off both lanes of traffic entering the Florida Keys. Apparently a large gravel truck veered into James lane and caused a head on collision between the vehicles. James is suffering from facial fractures that will require titanium plates to be inserted into his face, he has fractures to his wrist, ribs and a shattered left elbow. He has already had three surgeries and is undergoing facial surgery today. He was medivacked from the scene after they used the jaws of life to extract him from the vehicle. He remains in the hospital.
His wife, Donna, suffered from wrist fractures, a back injury that will require surgery and a ruptured spleen. She was also transported to a different hospital where she remains today, as does Jim. Miraculously they both survived, as did their two puppies that were traveling in the vehicle with them.
Jim and Donna are from Tampa and are currently in separate hospitals in South Florida recovering from their serious injuries. This is a very difficult time for both of them and they are going to need help from friends and family to get through this ordeal. We are asking that everyone put themselves in the position of these really good people and help, financially, however you are able.
We are always talking about the importance of paying it forward and helping our communities. This is a time to help a member of the public adjusting community in a time of great need. Please do whatever you can to help Jim and Donna during this difficult time. No donation is too small. We hope to exceed our goal and help to offer Jim and Donna some financial relief while they concentrate on their recovery.
