Support Maja's 2025 World Youth Archery Competition
Donation protected
My name is Maja Kecskés, I’m a 16-year-old archer, and I am seeking your support to represent Australia in the Under 18 division at the following major international archery competitions in 2025:
World Archery Youth Championships in Winnipeg, Canada
This event is self-funded, and the total cost of participation is approximately AUD 8,000. This amount covers registration, accommodation and food ($3,500); return economy airfare ($3,000); and additional costs for previous qualifying events ($1,500).
Over my archery career of 9 years, I was selected for the Australian Youth Team three times and for the NSW State Team five times. I have won multiple gold medals at National Youth Archery Championships and the Archery NSW Youth Series Recurve Trophy twice.
Representing Australia wearing the green and gold jersey is always an honour, I was privileged to do so 3 times already, winning 6 medals at two of these international events.
Last October, I also competed at my first Australian Open National Championships in the women’s recurve division, earning a bronze medal in the Women's Teams event and placing 5th and 6th in the 90- and 72-arrow rounds, respectively.
I currently train extensively, shooting 1,000 arrows weekly and dedicating 27–30 hours a week to training, including strength and conditioning, swimming, and Pilates. These efforts are part of my goal to represent Australia at future World Championships and the 2028 and 2032 Olympic Games.
