Maj Michael Schmid, CAP

On Wed 06 Mar, Michael Schmid suffered a severe stroke, he was 54. He was on life support following surgery, and was assessed over the next week. Michael passed away early Wed evening.

Michael lived to serve his community through Civil air Patrol. Michael started in Civil Air Patrol as a cadet at TAK Composite Squadron, rejoining in 2012 as an adult member. He held numerous key positions across several units and was a driving force in seniors professional development, Emergency service and Safety. Michael impacted many members, both cadet and senior, through his mentoring. He was always available to assist, wether it was in Professional development, cadet instruction of directing Emergency services activities and trainings. He was an sUAS Mission Pilot, held five Master, two Senior, and four Technician specialty track ratings and numerous ES qualifications.

Michael will be missed, we thank you for your support. May his memory be a blassing.
