Maitra's World Squash Tour - 5 Int. Tournaments

Donation protected
Hello All,

At the end of this year, Sarbani and Deep plan to travel and play five international tournaments across the pond - starting with the Oceania Junior Championships in New Zealand, the Canadian Junior Open at Niagara-on-the-Lake, the US Junior Open in Philadelphia, the Scottish Junior Open in Edinburgh and finally concluding with the British Junior Open in Birmingham.

Currently, Sarbani is a top-ranked Australian Junior Female, and some of her notable achievements include:
  • #1 Nationally Ranked for 4 Years in a Row
  • Australian Trans-Tasman Representative (2022 and 2023)
  • Australian Combined States Team Representative (2022, 2023)
  • 4 Consecutive National Titles (2019, 2020, COVID-19 in 2021, 2022, 2023)
  • Over 10 State Titles, including last year, where she took the U/17 QLD Title after defeating a Commonwealth Games Athlete in the final after causing an upset defeating an Australian World Junior Team Athlete in straight sets in the semis
  • Scottish Junior Open Third (2018, 2022)
  • Australian Junior Open Champion (2023)
  • 3-Time Queensland School Sport Champion (2021, 2022, 2023)

Additionally, Sarbani recently competed in her first PSA tournament at the Logan City Queensland Open ($6,000) and made it past first round against an international player (HWR: 141). Unfortunately, she lost against the second seed in the round of 16 - a great start nonetheless, to her professional career.

This is Deep's last year in the U/17 age group, and he is ranked #10 in the country, so he is looking forward to finishing it on a high note in some international tournaments. Given that he is interested in studying and playing overseas, this will provide exposure for him both as an athlete and a prospective student.

Given the current climate of the world and the prices associated with travel, this tour is proving to be quite pricey; therefore, we require your help with travel. Currently, we estimate the total cost to be just above $26,000 and by covering a portion of that cost - it would be great!

As you can see, Sarbani has shown major potential in her achievements, and she is the next step in putting Australia back on the map in the squash world.

Cheers,
The Maitras.
