My sister Ashley and her husband Carter had Maisy Jane on 28 January 2020. Ashley was on bed rest since 22 weeks with a high risk pregnancy. With financial strain since then, Ashley had a long difficult labor with complications due to a traumatic birth, and an emergency c-section.  Maisy was quickly taken to the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and treated for Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE). Ashley had to stay in the hospital she delivered, an additional 3 days, over 100 miles away. Not being with Maisy, was hard for Ashley. Ashley and Carter's families are supporting them as much as they can. Until they are able to get into the Ronald McDonald house. Ashley was able to see Maisy again when she was 4 days old. We have been working on getting more resources for their family. I, with the blessing of Ashley and Carter have suggested that I set up this page to help with the expenses not covered.  Maisy is now stable but will have to stay at the hospital for more testing and monitoring. It’s difficult to know what she will need in the future.
