Hello!

This is our beautiful daughter Maisie. Finding out I was pregnant was a dream come true, we had wanted to be parents for years. when we found out it was a little girl we cried with happiness. The pregnancy went by relatively smoothly (minus some intense morning sickness!). Despite this, she was born prematurely due to a rare and serious occurrence - a placental abruption.

No one expects a placental abruption. They can be life threatening to both baby and mom. We were so blessed to react quickly, and have a prompt medical team that almost immediately got Maisie out by emergency C section.

Despite the speed she was delivered, there are still consequences of the abruption.

I’m fundraising to help support the cost of our daughter’s stay in the NICU and Children’s Hospital. Maisie was born six weeks early, and was 5lbs, 1.5 oz. At first, we were relieved- that is a good size for a premature baby. We didn’t understand the severity of her birth or the health complications is had created. Her birth was traumatic for her and has caused acute and longer term health concerns due to severe blood loss, and being cut off from oxygen for an unknown amount of time. The duration of the NICU stay has been longer than anticipated and she is being transferred to the Children’s Hospital. The end is not quite in sight; we’re still figuring out answers to help support getting her home.

I’m asking for financial support to help us support Maisie’s medical needs and stay in the NICU and Children’s Hospital.
