Hi everyone!
Our names are Mairead Keary and Shona Hickey.
In September 2024, we will be partaking in a 9 day trek to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest free standing mountain in the world!
In order to partake in this, we must raise €10,000
We will be doing this in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, to help raise funds to provide free services for cancer patients and their families, Cancer is a disease that has unfortunately touched us all in some way, whether this is through personal experience, or having a loved one who has been affected by it. The fundraising will also aid The Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil nurses, who provide free end of life care for cancer patients, which allows for them to stay at home for the final days of their life. These nurses bridge the gap between access to medical facilities and the community, which is hugely important for people’s autonomy and sense of control in their final stages of life.
Through the Irish Cancer Society’s services, they offer hope, support, and resources to patients and families facing challenges amidst a cancer diagnosis.
Over the course of the next few months, we will be carrying out various activities and fundraisers to help raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and for our trek, so stay tuned!
We are thrilled to be able to partake in this challenge for such a worthy cause.
Any donations, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
