In March 2019, Amanda was diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer at only 32 years old. Seven years later, she is in remission, but still is required to go through maintenance treatment 4 times a year to try and keep her cancer from coming back and doing scans twice a year to monitor.
Fast forward to today, Amanda is quickly accumulating medical debt due to rising costs in health care and the addition of several new health conditions. In January, she had to make the difficult decision to cancel half of her treatment because she couldn't afford it and is at risk of losing her health insurance each money due to the extreme rise in cost for her monthly premium. She will now be skipping her April treatment as well due to rising costs. Amanda is hopeful to resume both treatment and afford her breast MRI at the end of July 2026.
Any funds raised here will pay for any medical expenses, current, future, past medical/medical adjacent debt, rent, utilities/bills, or her final expenses should it come to that. Support is needed more than ever as Amanda does not have local family and no longer has a significant other after an abrupt separation in 2023.
Thank you for helping Amanda survive and thrive!
