Help us to refurbish and maintain St Joseph's High School
Donation protected
Dear Sir/Madam,
My former school Saint Joseph’s Senior Secondary School (formerly known as Saint Joseph’s High School) in The Gambia, West Africa has been a Centre of Excellence in educating 13 – 16-year-old girls since 1921.
For many years, the school was a fee-paying institution, and the funds were used to further develop students and support the maintenance of the school’s infrastructure. To ensure inclusion, equal opportunities and access to a high school education for all, the Gambian government made education free for all. However, an increase in schools the education sector in the country has resulted in a reduction of fund allocated to schools. This has resulted in a funding gap, and SJHS like many others in the country now fully dependent on donations from ex-students and philanthropist for the day-to-day running of the school.
We the Ex-Pupils’ Association, Class of 1985 have started a fundraising campaign and to date we have raised D237,336.50 ($3,555.60 / £2,833.86 / €3,402.67). Our mission is to raise One Million Dalasis (£11,940.29 / €14,336.91 / $14,981.27) by 31st December 2025 to assist the school with internet access for all pupils as well as assist in carrying out maintenance work to their Home Economics block.
We would greatly appreciate any donation to our campaign and helping us reach our goal.
Thank you for being such a supporter of student success and building a bright future together!
With sincere gratitude,
