Lincoln University wants Maino

Hi, I'm Jermaine Williams, aka Maino. Three years ago I would have never dreamed of attending college. But here I am!  In January 2015 I got my GED after not attending school since 2006. I applied to Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, the first and oldest Historically Black College and University (HBCU),  in April 2015 and they accepted me! My plan is to major in Sociology so I can come back to Brooklyn, NY and help adopted children and children in foster care. When I was a child, the social workers didn't look like me. They didn't really get to know who I was. Its important to me to change that for new generations. 
Everything happened so fast. I hadn't saved towards college, and my income and lack of credit history made me ineligible for loans. I couldn't have made it this far to let finances stop me from attending college this semester. If you are reading this I pray you will consider contributing any amount to help me achieve this goal and turn the page on the newest chapter in my life.  All  funds received will go directly to college expenses.
