Athletes :
Anson Beaulieu, age 12, attends Central Maine Christian Academy in Lewiston. Anson has been skiing since he was 5 years old. He’s best known on the mountain for his backflip! When summer nights start to drop in temperature he starts praying for snow. This will be Anson’s first year competing at Nationals for Slopestyle and Rail Jam. His passion, dedication, and love for freestyle skiing is contagious.

Ashton Rinchich, age 9, attends Poland Community School. He is best known on the mountain for his mohawk helmet and stylish tricks on his snowboard. His freestyle journey began at the age of 6 when he received 2nd place in the 13 and under category at Lost Valley’s King of the Valley competition. From there, he began competing with USASA at the age of 7 and has been the Maine Mountain Series Champion for Slopestyle, Rail Jam, and Half Pipe for the past 3 years. This will be his third year attending Nationals. Last year, at age 8, he placed 10th at Nationals in both Slopestyle and Half Pipe!

Tucker Rinchich, age 13, attends Whittier Middle School. Tucker received the LVRC Coach’s Award two years in a row for his hard work, dedication, and progress in freestyle. This is his second year competing with USASA. Last year, he was the Maine Mountain Series Champion for Snowboard Slopestyle and attended Nationals for the first time. Tucker is looking forward to competing in Rail Jam at Nationals this year.

Johnny Bsullak, age 16, a Junior, attends Poland Regional HS and LRTC in the plumbing program. This is his second year participating in Maine Mountain Series USASA and his second year qualifying for National USASA. This year he qualified for two events Rail Jam and Slopestyle in Nationals at Copper Mountain. He joined the LVRC coaching program this winter and benefited greatly honing in his tricks and skills. Last year he placed 10th in Rail Jam at Nationals. He is a natural coach mentoring his friends and the littles on the Mountain. Johnny was featured in the Sun Journal, highlighting the value of Lost Valley as a perfect training ground for youth skiers and showing how with practice and hard work our Maine athletes from the Northeast can compete on the Big Mountains. ‘Free Range Johnny’ Bsullak on the rise — and the rails — in freestyle skiing (sunjournal.com)

Maxen Chrostek, age 17, attends Poland Regional HS and is a Junior. He works part time for Lost Valley Park and Rental during the winter season and McDonalds during the other seasons when he is not skiing. When he is not working he is practicing year round with his friend Johnny on his farm park and trampoline sometimes into the dark under solar lights. This was Maxen’s first year competing for Maine Mountain Series USASA and also receiving coaching under LVRC for Freestyle Skiing. Maxen’s growth throughout the season is recognized by his coaches and spectators.
