Homeplace Beer Company started out as a small venture in June 2017, with John Silver running the show. Much to our own surprise, we gradually developed into a social hub of Burnsville - full of strangers who have turned into family. In early February 2020, we made the move from our small taproom at Area C to our expansive new location at 321 West Main Street. We now have a staff of 15 people who keep the show running. Our new location also features a permanent kitchen for Hog Hollow Wood Fired Pizza, also employing several local folks.
Due to the rapid spread and grave effects of COVID-19 across our country, we made the decision to close our taproom on March 16, effective through March 30 at which time we will reassess the situation - these circumstances could likely persist far longer. We are so grateful for the aspect of community and social connection that is the heart of our business and yet at this time, those very things pose a health risk. We have given careful consideration and believe it is our responsibility to close to the public for the time being.
With reduced volume and staffing for at least the next two weeks, we find ourselves in a bind. Your contributions will be distributed evenly among our staff who are paid hourly and depend upon tips for their wages (this is a typical model for breweries and restaurants).
There are several establishments in Burnsville that are same in the same situation and we are striving for mutual support of the small businesses that make our town vibrant. Some of our Main Street neighbor dining establishments also have fundraisers, we encourage you to share the love:
