Magpie’s Surgery and Biopsy
Hi! My name is Julia, but more importantly, my dog is Magpie. She is a 3.5 year old angel that I rescued 2 years ago, that has had a bad hand dealt to her too many times the last 2 months. 3.5 weeks ago Mags had a fine needle extraction of a spot on her stomach, that was *mostly* fat cells. 3 days later while on a dog friendly hike, she stepped in a purposefully placed chemical dump that led to chemical burns on all 4 paws and a blood infection, which came with a very hefty bill from an emergency vet.
While we made it through August, September has brought more bad news, and presented us with a $1000 vet bill, for a surgery and biopsy on the same spot as a month previous. The spot has grown back and is causing Mags pain, and given that it has only been about 4 weeks, the aggressive nature is putting a large time crunch on starting treatment, as since it has grown back so quickly and aggressively, a biopsy must be done asap to determine a treatment plan and hopefully beat the cancer that is evidently prominent.
As her sole parent, I’ve done everything I can to put every one of Magpie’s needs above my own, but at this time I’m not able to put together enough funds to get my saving grace the fastest treatment possible. I carry a lot of pride in being a dog owner at my age in circumstances and economy I live in, but for Magpie’s being those feelings are being put aside as I ask for help from friends and family in reaching the goal of $750 that I’m lacking in savings for the testing needed to be able to provide Mags the care she needs and deserves.
Thank you to everyone for even taking the time to read this, and from the bottom of my heart I appreciate every penny donated.
