On January 24th, 2023, my family dogs ran off into the woods to chase after something and went missing for several hours. Around midnight we received a phone call that a rottweiler was hit by a truck, asking if it was our dog. We confirmed that it was Magnus, and Freya was on the side of the road with no visible injuries. The driver was present, along with a few neighbors of the accident, supporting Magnus with a blanket and comfort. He was rushed to a vet clinic where he received MRI, X-rays, and sedatives to figure out his injuries.

The overall injury is Magnus’ pelvic is fractured in multiple spots along with a puncture in his leg, minor road rash and some bruising. The vet clinic has kept him comfortable however they are not able to preform the surgery to get him back to 100%. He will need a plate in his hip area and major reconstructive surgery for his leg. The vet did also inform us that possible amputee is an option. With this spreading through our friends and family, we are transporting him to a nearby clinic recommended by a mutual. The vet has given a rough estimate of $8k-$10k.

The alternative option is euthanization, which my family nor myself, wants to put down our 10 month old puppy. If you have made it this far in this story, thank you for your time.
