Magic Powers Platform Tour

We need live music now more than ever. I am Liana Gabel and for the last 5 years, I have been sharing my songs, my music, my dance, and my vision of community, at venues and homes throughout the U.S....... then came covid and lockdowns and restrictions. I know I need to continue playing across America and connecting us all in real and meaningful ways. We can make that connection, that is the core of my music. I am launching The Magic Powers Platform Tour - a traveling stage for me and for other musicians to sing, dance, and play music for all of us who so need creativity and live human connection at this moment. By bringing people together in small, outdoor, spread out, community gatherings around the country, I know that I and my music can help to heal division, and find the places inside of ourselves where we feel whole to move from. I know that creating community through music and dance is my "magic power” and I also know that it will take a small group of people with their magic powers, to join in to make this vision a reality.  This go-fund-me campaign is an invitation to join me! The funds for this project will go towards the purchase of a lightly used high roof van to be build into a portable performance space and living space while I am on the road. We would like this project funded by January 1, 2021, so we can get it on the road this coming spring.

Why is this so important now?
Restaurants, bars, coffee shops, are slowly opening back up, but people aren’t yet ready to go indoors for music.  I want to create a safe way to counteract the fact that music venues are closing all over the place. I want to show that musicians can adapt too. This project keeps me playing, it gives a stage for other musicians to continue playing, and for people to gather and listen to music outdoors at a comfortable distance. 

Who?  
Anyone who wants to help bring heartfelt music and dance out into the world is welcomed to get involved. We need concert hosts. We need local musicians to play sets and share the stage with me. 

What?
I am looking for a reliable high roof van built out to include my PA system, guitar amp, and a pull out platform stage. The build out will be designed to plug and play wherever we go. The van will also double as a small yet comfortable living space for me and my pup to have a road home. This will also avoid me having to enter into other peoples’ homes during the pandemic.  

Where will we go?
Anywhere drivable in the US where the weather is comfortable enough for an outdoor show. 

When will we start?
Spring time! We are looking to get this Magic Powers Platform Tour going by the spring. 

How?
I have played a lot of house shows during my past 5 years of touring. Honestly, they have been some of my favorite shows ever. So we take the house show model and we just bring it outside. We find a house/yard show host at every stop along the tour. The host invites their friends and family over for the outdoor concert. Everyone spreads out on their own blankets and lawn chairs. Folks can bring their own drinks and snacks. We will accept donations for the music.

Other ways to help...
Do you know anyone selling a high roof van or similar functioning vehicle in relativly good condition? Maybe they want to donate it or sell it at a lower price to support this project? 

Recycle -Reduce- Reuse 
We found a use van for purchase! So I adjusted the budget to fit the purchase. This van has the basic build out already taken care of. So I took some of the previously listed materials off of the list.

* I already have a good working PA, an excellent amp, mic stands, and cables that I will be using to support these outdoor shows* 

Covid-19: We will follow each states guidelines, encouraging social distancing, and respecting everyones ideas about it and personal boundaries. This will involve staying informed on each states travel restrictions, Covid-19 updates and limiting attendance to each states regulations.
