Maggie's Kids Summer Camp Victor Week

Miss Maggie (Maggie D. Harris) operates Community Lutheran Ministry on Joseph Avenue in the city of Rochester. Her year-round ministry is solely focused on the children of the 14621 zip code, currently one of the most impoverished and crime-ridden areas of our city. Every summer Miss Maggie runs a state accredited six-week camp for up to 150 children ages 3 to 17. For more information about Miss Maggie’s ministry, you can visit www.communitylutheranministry.org

For the last 15 years, local Victor and Farmington churches have come together to sponsor the campers in our community for a full week. The children and their counselors arrive by bus in the morning, and various fun activities, healthy meals, and trips to local parks are provided for the children.

This year the Victor camp is being held July 5th-9th . The children will be provided with two healthy meals and a snack every day. Trips are already planned to Onanda Park, Victor Municipal Park, Lollypop Farm, Egypt Park and the Geneva spray park. A camp of this magnitude requires many resources, and the planning committee is grateful for any support that local businesses/ churches can provide to help us support these deserving children.

We need support to raise money to pay for the bussing this year. Any extra monies will be put into the account for upcoming years!
