Maggie the Paralyzed Pug
Tax deductible
8 year old Maggie was surrendered in love after her family could no longer care for her physical needs. Maggie is paralyzed in the back and has been for some time. Unfortunately she has a horrible UTI which is requiring multiple extended antibiotics.
When Maggie first came in she was only able to drag herself around, she was very scared and shy and did not feel good from the serious infection in her bladder. She had urine scald burns on her belly from her incontinence issues. She has been with a us a few weeks and a new girl has emerged...her nickname is Miss Sass -a- Frass! Maggie's foster mom has been expressing her bladder, giving her massages and using a sling to help her strengthen her back legs. We also had a used Wheelchair which she has really taken to and she seems to really be enjoying having some mobility again!
While Maggie is undergoing her medical treatment, we would love to send her for some physical therapy sessions so we can continue to improve her quality of life. We have gotten set up with Dr. Mandi at Healing Arts Animal Care to be seen towards the end of July.
As you know money is always tight with rescue, and doing "extras" like physical therapy is always tough since there is just never enough money! Dr. Mandi has graciously offered us a generous discount, but we still will need to come up with the funds to help this handi-capable little girl get the care she would benefit so much from.
Buster & Lilly's Doggie Daycare will match all donations up to $1,000!
