Maggie (the adorable) needs your help.

Hey, my name is Geoff and Maggie (the adorable) came into my life 7 years ago as a tiny, helpless little puppy. She belongs to a good friend, but as I have been there all of her life, she fully accepted me into her pack and I was officially Dad number 2. I used to work from home, so she would come and hang out with me several times a week whilst my friend went off to work to pay for her kibble, and of course Maggie and I bonded and are very close. I adore her. She is such a spirited little dog and has such a funny character, always looking to dig in the dirt and chase the ball, she truly is a little mischievous, ray of light.
Maggie has just had to be rushed to hospital because she was continually vomiting. She was severely dehydrated from this and after the vets managed to get her rehydrated and x-rayed her they discovered an obstruction in her intestines. She was operated on and the vets removed a piece of chew toy that she had unfortunately swallowed. She is in a very poorly state and whilst she is recovering slowly, her intestines are still not working properly and she can't be fed until they are.
She has been in hospital since Saturday and already the vet hospital bills are sky high, which is kind of terrifying. My friend is not rich, and what little he does earn just about covers his day to day needs. With rents being crazy high and the cost of everything rising, he is in serious financial distress.
The vet hospital said that Maggie is at risk of sepsis because her intestines were so inflamed. She has to have fluid drained from her stomach every two hours so she does not regurgitate it and risk it going into her lungs. They said she needed to be referred to a specialist hospital that can provide her with intravenous nutrition, because she cannot eat she is getting jaundiced. It just breaks my heart to see her this way.
So I am asking for your help. Anything you can donate will be so gratefully received. Whilst she has made some minor improvements, if we can get her to that specialist hospital so they can feed her while she is recovering, that would give her the best chance of survival.
Please, please help in any way you can and if you can share this story then please do.
Thank you for your time. xxx
