Maggie Needs Your Help to Heal

I am here to tell you about Maggie Bello. She is an amazing woman, extremely hard worker, and great friend. Unfortunately, two months ago, she started having pains in her back. She was managing it and didn’t think it was anything serious. Then things started to take a turn for the worse. She began losing her ability to walk on her own, having to rely on a walker and wheelchair every day, and still getting up and going to work every day. But then things only got worse. A week and three days ago, she woke up and was planning to work like she does every other day. But God did not have those same plans. She was unable to get up or move. She was stuck in her bed in so much pain. We unfortunately had no choice but to call 911 and get her to the hospital. Thank God we did. What we thought was just a pulled muscle or slipped disc turned out to be a severe infection on her spine. The hospital admitted her immediately, and the next morning we were notified that the infection was so bad that she needed to be put on intravenous antibiotics and that she will be in the hospital for six weeks. Three days after she was admitted into the hospital, they had to do a biopsy, drilling into her spine to retrieve a piece of the infection to make sure it did not spread into her bloodstream. By the grace of God, it did not, but unfortunately, she will be in the hospital indefinitely for six weeks to get the correct treatment for the infection. The doctor notified us two days ago that this is going to be a very long recovery process, and even once they’re done with the antibiotic treatment, she’s going to have to go through physical therapy to help her with walking again on her own, and that the pain in her back, hips, and tailbone will still be there. We were told that it could take up to three months before she is fully healed and not in pain anymore from the infection. She is the most amazing woman and is being so strong, but she is the sole provider for her family and needs help with covering the bills for the next two months. She is such a strong and independent woman, and this is the hardest thing we has ever had to do—asking for help. But we is in a time of need, and I couldn’t think of a better person who deserves a break and a little bit of stress taken off of her so she can focus on her health and getting better. We couldn’t be more appreciative to anyone who would be able to help. I know the both of us are beyond grateful for any help that she can get right now. Thank you. The whole reason behind this GOFUNDME is for the rent,utilities, food,and rides because we don’t have a car so there for we are using ride share everywhere we need to go at the moment right now I’m her only support system at the moment going to the hospital every chance I can which is very hard because of how expensive it is for me to get to her in Melbourne hospital coming from NW Palm Bay. I do my best to help Maggie out with showers making sure she gets everything she need from the doctors and nurses on a daily basis being her rock in this situation Maggie’s family are all out of Florida and can’t be there for her right now unfortunately but we are doing the best we can with what we have.
