Maggie Edgar cancer treatment fundraiser

Recently our friend, Maggie Edgar, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. She has a very rare type of stage IV metastatic melanoma called mucosal melanoma which started in her stomach and esophagus and has metastasized (spread) to her lymph nodes and liver. Maggie is under the excellent care of MD Anderson in Houston and has been enduring treatment with humor and wit throughout.

Maggie is a great friend to those lucky enough to cross paths with her. She helps in times of need and routinely shrugs off the credit. Maggie has a big heart and a kind spirit that makes life easy for others.

She gives of herself often, but now Maggie needs time to rest and heal. There are more treatments ahead and hospital visits. The daily routine of life and associated expense continues despite the need to focus on her health. Maggie needs to take it easy and follow doctor’s orders. She is a hard worker and a problem solver so slowing down is not easy for her. Her husband, Shane, has taken leave from work to care for Maggie and he also needs focus and rest to keep their home and health on track.

We want the best for our dear friend, Maggie. And we know that her fan club spreads far and wide. Your contributions will benefit Maggie in her fight against cancer. Prayers, comments, and thoughts are all appreciated, but please understand that her responses may be limited. Rest and low stress are a priority for Maggie’s healing.
