Introduction:

Hi everyone! My name is Carver Isaak, and I will be turning 17 in January 2025. I’ve been navigating rapids since I was 8 years old, and whitewater kayaking has become more than just a passion—it’s my way of life. As a proud member of the Alberta Slalom High Performance Team, I train year-round, 6–7 days a week, constantly pushing my limits to achieve greatness in the sport I love.

In 2024, I placed 3rd in the U18 Extreme Slalom and 4th in the Downriver Race at the Canadian Nationals. This season, I’m determined to take my journey to new heights: competing internationally, training with world-class coaches, and working toward representing Canada on the National Team—with the ultimate goal of competing at the Olympics and excelling in extreme races across the globe.

The Dream:

My dream is about more than just medals. It’s about representing Canada with pride, inspiring others to chase their goals, and breaking boundaries in extreme kayaking. Competing internationally will give me the opportunity to train on world-class courses, gain exposure to elite competitions, and bring the values of dedication, sportsmanship, and adventure to the global stage.

About Me:

Since my first paddle stroke, I’ve felt the thrill of whitewater kayaking coursing through my veins. Over the years, I’ve poured thousands of hours into perfecting my technique, building my strength, and becoming an advocate for adventure, resilience, and community.

Last year, the community helped me raise just over $8,480, which allowed me to fund critical parts of my training and competition schedule. I’m incredibly grateful for that support—it made a world of difference.

Beyond competing, I’ve worked hard to fund my dream by holding down a job at a local café and organizing fundraisers, such as coffee sales, to support my training and travel.

In addition to being an athlete, I’m passionate about fostering inclusivity, building community, and inspiring others. My story is one of dedication, perseverance, and the belief that hard work and support from others can turn dreams into reality.
