I deleted the information about what happened because it made me feel vulnerable & we are a lot further away from that time in our lives, but wanted to write something as a thank you or update in case anybody ever clicks on this again. Maeve finished high school at the place near our apartment, we sometimes ate ice cream for breakfast, she played basketball and I went to as many games as my work schedule would allow, we danced around in the living room, she did good in school, and when she did bad I wasn’t too hard on her. We had snowball fights on the sidewalk when it snowed and we made snow angels. She went on to college and she loves it, and I am so proud of her.
I grew up a lot too. I dropped out of college to work full time. I’ve always been a hard worker, but being Maeve’s guardian taught me about duty and honor. I wake up everyday thankful we are alive, & thankful to the people who supported us years ago.
