Maeve showed up in a good samaritan's yard in southern CA looking for food. She noticed she was getting bigger and bigger- no surprise she was pregnant. She is a super friendly girl, very loving. We brought her up to Woodinville and one week later she had her babies. She is a wonderful mother.

Turns out Maeve is about 8 years old and has been definitely been an experienced mom. When we took her to the vet to get spayed, we discovered she has Stomatitis. A very painful condition where all her teeth need to be removed.

We took her for her surgery and her blood work indicated Maeve was very, very sick. High white blood count, kidney levels and low iron among other problems. We gave her antibiotics and did more bloodwork 2 weeks later. Her infection was gone but her kidney levels and iron doubled.

We think Maeve may have FIP. We started treatment and we’ll repeat bloodwork in 3 weeks.

The estimate for stomatitis surgery is $2,000. The blood work costs about $300 each.

She has been a really sweet girl the whole time. Very loving and so grateful to be safe and comfy.
