Our guardian angel, Maeva Sol Marin

Hi, my name is Elyse O’Neill and I am fundraising for my sister Haley Marin and her family. My sister, Haley, her husband, Michael, and two year old son Amias were so excited that they would be having a baby girl in October. They traveled to Ohio in early July for one last visit before baby would arrive and to assist our mother who was undergoing back surgery. Michael returned home after one week to head back to work, however Haley planned to stay longer to help our mom. While in Ohio, she started to experience pregnancy complications and urgently tried to fly home on July 19 with her two year old son, Amias. When her plane landed in Chicago for a layover, her water broke and she unexpectedly had to deliver her baby girl, Maeva Sol, at 27 weeks pregnant. Maeva was a strong little fighter during the 23 days that she was on this earth. She was doing so well given her age and size until she was unexpectedly diagnosed with NEC (necrotizing enterocolitis) which required immediate surgery. Maeva fought for 3 more days but the Lord called her home on August 10 at 11:20pm. She passed away in the arms of my sister and her husband. Haley, Michael and their son Amias, have returned home and are grieving the loss of their daughter. As one can imagine, after being away from home for 40 days coupled with the fact that Haley’s husband had to take an unpaid leave of absence to be with his wife and son during this unimaginable time, they have multiple bills that have piled up. If you are able to assist in any way, our family would be so appreciative. Grieving the loss of a child is heartbreaking in and of itself. If assistance can be offered to help relieve the stress of the ongoing and extensive bills, it would give my sister and brother in law the time they need to grieve and heal from the devasting loss of their sweet Maeva Sol.
