Hi everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of the Helgeson family to fundraise and support Mae Helgeson as she is hospitalized for a terrible ATV accident.
Details below of Mae’s accident from her parents:
Our beautiful daughter, Mae, was doing what she loved Saturday evening. She was taking a cruise on the Ranger to see nature, check out the ponds, and above all try to track some migrating warblers and any other bird or wildlife on her spotting list. An accident occurred when the Ranger caught a steep edge of pond embankment and overturned, pinning Mae underwater. A rapid EMT response ensued and saved her life. She was air lifted to Mayo in Rochester where she is currently being cared for in the PICU. Her amazing medical team is pouring every ounce of care into her healing. She suffered an injury to her trachea, which fortunately has not yet required surgery. Her airways have been cleared and she has positive lung function. She is being mechanically ventilated and remains on sedation in order for her trachea to heal and for her to remain stable. While we are still learning of her cognitive condition with various tests and time, we seek your thoughts, well wishes and prayers for total healing of her mind and body. Mae is a shinning light in this world. All who know her have experienced her charm and know her love for her people, the world, nature and all living things. She has a lot to fight for!
The Helgeson family needs our support now more than ever. We want to take the stress of medical bills and living expenses off of their shoulders as they focus on Mae’s recovery. If you are able, please donate. Please continue to keep Mae, Matt and Julie and the rest of the family in your prayers.
