Maegen and her Herd Need Your Help!

Maegen needs our help! Maegen has been trimming my horses for 7 years. She is patient with the youngsters and compassionate with the old ones with mobility issues. She is obsessed with ensuring their feet are balanced and improving every trim. Even more, she is one of those hoof care professionals that will make an emergency visit if your horse needs it. She is always willing to provide her wisdom and expertise. She is passionate about helping the horses become sound and helping their owners take amazing care of them. 2023 has not been kind to Maegen. In August, a horse fell on her, badly injuring her ankle. She was unable to work for several weeks and even when she was able to start taking clients again, she couldn’t do the long days that she normally does. She was just getting back to her full trim schedule and getting caught up on the horses who needed trimmed when another injury happened. Maegen was attacked by a large Pyrenees. Both her arms were mauled, as well as her right hand and her back when she tried to run away and was knocked down again. She had 18 stitches. This terrifying ordeal has left her unable to use her right arm and hand and minimal use of her left arm. Once again, she is unable to work due to injury. This second occurrence in one year is causing significant financial harm. She has 10 horses at home that need to be fed, as well as her dog, cats and goats. Without help, she will be forced to make the difficult decision of rehoming her younger horses and euthanizing her seniors if she can’t afford to give them the care she wants them to have.
