The Mady Project Team are raising money to bring awareness to mental illnesses and suicide prevention. Once we reach our goal, we will donate all the money to families and friends who have lost loved ones from suicide, or are in need of help.

Mady Project Introduction-
Madyson came up to me on my first day of group therapy. I was nervous and scared that these people would judge me, but no- Madyson and all the other teens in group therapy surprised me with good energy and smiles. We knew each other for awhile since we saw each other at track meets, but we never talked. It was a mistake not to be friends with her earlier because she was the brightest person I ever met because right when I would walk in the room with her, it was all sunshines and rainbows. She made me feel comfortable in therapy, and we would always ALWAYS be with each other, plus my friend P. We were the trio, the stars, just kidding- But we had the most positive vibe in group. Everyone in group therapy means so much to me, but I can’t thank Mady enough for being my best friend during my hardest times.
I was in disbelief when I found out she passed away. I couldn’t look at my phone after seeing her in my screen with captions saying “R.I.P” or “Goodbye”. Remembering everything, I felt like my heart was going to burst with its rapid beats. I was in shocked like everyone was, but I found out through social media, and I couldn’t believe it. When I went to see her for the last time, it was painful to see her, but it was more painful to see her family. Everyone was mourning so hard and I could sense it in me. It’s been a year and 6 plus months since she passed, and to this day I still find myself to fall back into immense despair, and sometimes it just gets really bad. But it does get better.
From my experience, suicide will never be the answer to anything. With all the emotions I felt, the experiences I struggled to move on from, I believe that suicide is something to remove the pain, but delivers the pain to others permanently. Many of us struggle daily from any form of mental illness, and yes it is difficult, but we are all capable of getting better each day.
Suicide Prevention-
The Mady Project will advocate for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. My goal for this project is to help someone seek for help, or support someone who is in need. Additionally, I want to unite everyone into a safe environment and feel supported and loved. The Mady Project will consist of different events which I will update along the way. First, I’d like to advertise this project in social media for others to see, but also send out daily reminders. Secondly, I will communicate with families, friends, and others who have gone through losing a loved one or who is suffering/ or suffered from a mental illness- and contain all the information in this blog as stories and inspiration (keeping it anon). Third, I will talk about any topics you guys have provided me, and or questions I will be answering. Fourth, I will explore many organizations or foundations to unite as one and create a bigger platform. Fifth, I will give out text reminders, bracelets, posters, anything that will advocate for this platform and suicide prevention.
I will try my best to reach out to other programs, clubs at schools, and advocaters to expand awareness on suicide prevention and mental health. This is all for you guys, and I hope this will help one of you who are struggling. My biggest goal is to save someone’s life or try my hardest for others to seek for help. This project will be the biggest art piece I will be creating for you, and I hope you see through your struggles and inspire all of you.
Thank you.
