At 19 years old and 33 weeks pregnant Madelyn contracted Covid.
Because Covid hit our household on August 24th, Madelyn went and got her first Covid vaccine on August 25th.
Unfortunately on August 31st she tested positive with no symptoms. The doctor told her that this happens a lot, people wait to get the shot after they have already been exposed and because they aren’t fully vaccinated and the vaccine hasn’t had time to do it’s job, things get bad.
The morning of September 3rd she was hospitalized due to Covid attacking her lungs, she woke up at 5am and could not breath. By the 4th she was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia and admitted to MICU. As of Sunday the 5th doctors decided it was best to do a c-section to help save her and Baby Jackson’s life. Since then Madelyn has been in ICU and on the vent and Jackson is in NICU.
Madelyn is fully insured under her dad and my husband, however we do not know what medical bills her and Logan (boyfriend/babies father) will face for Jackson. Nor do we know what challenges Madelyn will face in the future when she finally comes home.
