Madrasah For Children In Somalia
Donation protected
Madrasatu Dar-ul Biri wa Dawah is a madrasah that is located in Ceelasha Biyaha which is a small town located west of Muqdisho, and it needs help buying the land their building is built on. A local brother wanted to teach unfortunate kids who were either poor or orphaned about the deen so he set out to find some land. A Somali woman from the US was kind enough to let him borrow her land and said he could build his madrasah and teach his students. Last year during the last 10 days of Ramadan he constructed a building on this land and started teaching. At the time the landlady didn't need the land and said the brother could use the land long term. He teaches the children a variety of Islamic studies such as memorizing the Quran, Tafsir, and Fiqh. There are a little over 100 students and 5 macalins including the brother himself. The landlady recently reached out and said she needs her land back because she wants to sell it. The brother would be forced to move his school elsewhere and watch the building he worked so hard to build be destroyed. He asked if he can buy the land from her and was told it costs $20,000. The teachers tried to raise money but only came up with $4,000 and they need the remaining $16,000 to own the land and continue teaching these kids.
Contributing to this cause would fall under the category of Sadaqah Jariya. Every time a student opens up the Quran and reads, even if it's just one letter you will benefit from this action. Every day a student learns something new you will be rewarded. All this humble man asks is for good and generous Muslims to help his cause so he can spread his knowledge to the next generation. Some of these kids have no family, just Islam and we as Muslims have a duty to help them.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him” [Muslim]
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.” [Muslim]
May Allah guide us all.
