My name is Madisyne and I’m 22 years old. I have Holoprosencephaly (HPE), a severe congenital brain malformation, resulting in significant physical and cognitive impairment leaving me unable to sit, stand or transfer without assistance.

I rely on a custom made wheelchair for mobility, safety and postural support. My wheelchair is my lifeline, enabling me to participate and experience life the best I can with my limitations.

I’m getting a new wheelchair as I’ve outgrown my current wheelchair. Unfortunately our current wheelchair accessible van is becoming unsafe and not functional and will not fit my new wheelchair. So I am asking for donations, no matter how big or small, to help my Dad, who is my sole caregiver, to buy a new wheelchair accessible van. This van will ensure I can continue to access and participate in the community and transport me to my weekly physical therapy and medical appointments. This new wheelchair accessible van will ensure my safety, maintain my dignity and enable me to continue to participate in life as I don’t like being stuck at home. I enjoy going to my cooking and art programs and outings with my family and friends. I greatly appreciate your donation towards a new wheelchair accessible van as it will ensure I can live my life.
