Last Friday, my dear friend Joi lost her daughter, Madisyn, who suffered from a bilateral pulmonary embolism and passed away suddenly at home with her Mom and sister by her side.
Madisyn Rudisill was 18 years young. She just graduated from high school and was a nursing major at Lincoln University. Madisyn had a generous heart and was easy to love. She was an amazing friend, a motivator, resilient, extremely focused on her education, a loving big sister to Nakayla and the joy of her Mom's life.
Madisyn suffered with Crohn's disease and was in and out of the hospital. It was her dream to attend nursing school, with asperations of becoming a neonatal nurse, so she could help other sick kids. She followed her heart and was just beginning her journey of greatness. I know she would have done amazing things.
As you can imagine, the loss of a child is unbearable. The last thing any parent should have to deal with during this time is a financial burden. There was a "child" life insurance policy in place for Madisyn, however, she just turned 18, and unfortunately, those funds are no longer available to help with funeral costs.
Joi is a single mother who was raising two daughters. I started this gofundme campaign so that she can focus on remembering Madisyn and healing and not have to worry about how to provide her daugher with a proper burial.
Madisyn was a giver and wanted to help those in need. In honor of her memory, if you could find it in your heart to share and/or donate to help Madisyn's family, I would be so grateful.
In addition, please pray for Joi, Nakayla, and all of Madisyn's family, as they go through this most difficult time. God Bless!
