Many of you know that my sister, Madison Lee, received the heartbreaking news that she had cancer in early July 2019. As her brother I admit that I am biased, but I truly believe that Madison is one of the strongest, kindest, and beautiful persons I’ve ever met. Through her two surgeries, hundreds of tests, and 5 cycles of chemo she continued to show humility, kindness, and compassion for everyone that helped her get to a place the doctors call CANCER FREE.
I asked her several times during this process if she wanted to start a gofundme and she swore she would never. Madison would say things like “my cancer isn’t as bad as some” and “I’ll make it on my own”. I grilled her on this and it comes down to her desire to never be a burden on anyone she loves. Madison said “I don’t deserve people’s help”. Once again I was left thinking how strong and thoughtful my young sister is but hearing how just how expensive her treatment was and how much she has left was crushing. No one deserves to have cancer, go through chemo, and come out in a hole that seems insurmountable. I am asking that her family and friends show her that she deserves only good things in this life because she has only brought good things into our lives and show Maddie that her cancer is just as bad as them all and that she doesn’t have to do it all on her own. Thank you to everyone who has been there for Madison and her family and those who keep showering her with love. Someday she will realize how kindness and compassion are her strengths and that is what makes her deserving of a good life.
All proceeds from this gofund me will go directly to Madison to pay for her remaining medical bills and financial debts accrued over the last 6 months.
