Madelines Midwifery Journey

Hi!

As a midwife, I have had the privilege of working alongside some amazing women. The work we do is tough. Tough in ways I don't even really have words for. We sacrifice so much to support and love on these families. We are happy to do it because, you see, midwifery is a calling - not a choice.

God brought Madeline into my world in the first part of 2021. She was the "student" that I didn't know I needed. Her dedication was obvious. The very first day we ever spoke, I invited her to a birth. She politely declined because she was in Seattle at the time. Totally understandable, so we agreed that she would check in when she arrived back in Arizona and we could get started on her path to Arizona licensure. A couple hours later, I get a call from Madeline and she says "if I get on a plane now, can I still come to a birth today?"

My mind was BLOWN. This dedication, drive and desire was next level.

She did just that and arrived that evening and attended her first birth as a team member of Family First Midwifery.

Madelines journey has been long. She has served as a midwife in Hawaii and Ecuador and has spent the last 18 months working with Family First to finish her apprenticeship and learn all that she needs to work on her own.

A midwifery apprenticeship is EXPENSIVE. It requires time and money to be spent to learn; fees to submit paperwork and to take the test and money to establish and purchase equipment to build a practice. I would love to bless Madeline with some funds to help make this easier on her. The time she spent as a student was unpaid, so her sacrifice has been great.

If Madeline blessed you during your birth or pregnancy; if she's loved on you as a doula, student midwife or if you simply love Madeline - then I'm asking for your help. I'm hoping people will give generously, knowing full well that 2021 was a hard year for everyone. If you can donate, please consider doing so. Every penny will help!

Here's a list of some of what Madeline needs to pay for:

Application fees: $1000
NARM Exam: $1100
Study Material: $300
Midwifery supplies and equipment: $4000

Thank you in advance for loving on Madeline! I am so excited to see what God has in store for Madeline and Family First Midwifery!

Love,
Jetta
