Madeleine's Post-AML future

September 7, 2022, my beautiful 18 year old daughter called me near the end of her second double shift in a row, to tell me she felt terribly ill and thought she may pass out. I took her immediately to Urgent Care where we found she was critically anemic (hgb 4.3, hct 12) with platelets of 19,000. Sent emergently to the ED where we were told she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Within hours she was transferred by ambulance to Seattle Children's Hospital, where we have been since. She has had 4 chemo infusions, a bone marrow biopsy, 2 lumbar punctures with intrathecal chemo, countless transfusions of blood and platelets. And we have weeks if not months more of treatment.

The purpose of this gofundme is that Maddie was working all those hours, and had planned to work at that level, through the spring so that she could pay for cosmetology school and to get her car fixed or get a different one so that she could get around without worrying. Clearly, she cannot do that now. I am asking if you can spare anything, please help her have something to look forward to when she finally gets the all clear. I want her to have hope, I want her to know that just because freaking cancer had to invade her bone marrow, that she doesn't have to give up on her plans for a career. She is already extremely talented at hair, cutting and styling, as well as makeup; she will excel in her chosen career.

Right now she's feeling down, her plans have derailed so I want to give her that hope back. Please, anything will help. And if we find we have more funds than we need, the remainder will be going to leukemia and lymphoma research.
