Hello,  My name is Georgette, I am Madelaine’s younger sister. It is with much pain that I am informing you of her passing. My sister was a Canadian citizen who fell ill, she was then hospitalized and ultimately passed away in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She leaves behind a distraught 8-year-old little girl. Her body is still in a morgue in the DRC due to a lack of financial means. The pandemic and her unanticipated death have greatly affected my family and we are short financially. My family and I are hoping to raise enough money to repatriate her body back to Canada and pay for funeral expenses. We hope to raise 20K to repatriate her body and bury her in Canada so that her daughter may be able to visit the gravesite and leave flowers to commemorate her mother. The Canadian consulate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been contacted and they are aware of her passing.  We are in dire need of financial assistance and any amount will be of great help.
