For the past six years, my husband and I have walked through infertility. In the beginning, we weren’t actively preventing pregnancy and assumed it would just happen in time. After a while, we realized I still hadn’t gotten pregnant. That quiet realization turned into questions, and eventually into appointments and testing.
For the last four years, we have been consistently and intentionally trying to conceive. What we hoped would be simple has instead become a journey filled with doctor visits, lab work, waiting, and learning more than we ever expected to know about infertility.
After multiple rounds of testing, we recently received news that has been both heartbreaking and clarifying. My AMH level is 0.3, which is considered very low and indicates diminished ovarian reserve. We also discovered that I have one blocked fallopian tube. In addition, my TSH level was 3.9, and I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism. Because optimal TSH levels for conception are closer to 2, I am now taking levothyroxine to help regulate my thyroid and give us the best possible chance moving forward.
After reviewing everything, our doctor believes that IVF may be our most realistic path to becoming parents. We are currently working with CNY Fertility as we take the next steps forward.
We are committed to doing whatever it takes and are prepared to save and work toward covering the costs ourselves. However, someone encouraged us to share our story in case anyone felt led to support our journey. IVF comes with many expenses — medications, monitoring appointments, procedures, and potential additional cycles — and any help would simply allow us to move forward sooner and with a little less financial pressure.
Whether you choose to give, share, or keep us in your prayers, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for standing beside us during one of the most vulnerable seasons of our lives. We are holding onto faith and hope that one day we will get to meet our miracle — made with love and just a little bit of science.
