Made it to 80 - But the Vet Bills Might Kill Me!

On March 29 I turn 80! It's hard to wrap my head around this, but the numbers don't lie. The plan was to throw myself a really big bash at an expensive restaurant...but then reality took hold.
Two of my dogs got seriously sick at the same time. One dog has a liver problem. The other has Irritable Bowel Syndrome. These are chronic illnesses. But this is my family. They come before anything else in my life.
I'm on a fixed income. All I have to do to stay in my house for the rest of my life is pay my property tax and house insurance. Both payments are due in April. But all the money I saved after the holidays went to vet bills. So...instead of birthday gifts, or a single event at an expensive restaurant, I'm asking my friends to help me get my dogs well. It's all I really want, anyway.
