We are the friends and family of Madelyn Gonzalez-Hladik, a 2001 graduate of Morristown High School (MHS). Madelyn passed away on September 26, 2015 but we want to make sure her love of life, her hunger for knowledge, and her generous, compassionate heart live on.
100% of the funds raised here will go directly to funding Maddy's Gift, a scholarship we are starting at MHS.
Maddy's Gift will be presented at the MHS Senior Awards Ceremony on May 31, 2016 to a deserving female senior pursuing a degree in math or science. As an educator and a student, Madelyn was motivated by her own personal curiosity to know more. Maddy's Gift will be awarded to a student (or students) who is equally motivated and takes an active role in their education.
Please help us reach (or surpass) our goal of $10,000 by Feb 5th. All funds raised will be given as scholarships to deserving student(s).

About Madelyn
Madelyn loved school. She loved her high school teachers and her college professors --- and they all loved her right back! There were many things that came naturally to Madelyn and then there were many things she had to work hard for. Nonetheless, Madelyn was not afraid to work hard for something she wanted. No matter how easy or difficult something was, she made sure to bring joy to everything she was a part of: classes, volleyball, step team, camp, anti-bullying groups, the list goes on. She wanted to be involved in everything and wasn't scared to create the groups that she felt were lacking. She was a good friend, always there to listen. She was a diligent student, never letting herself get behind on work. She was a good daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, etc. Her family was the most important thing to her in the entire world. She was a good dancer, a lover of music, and a fan of living life to the fullest.
After graduating from MHS, she went on to earn her B.A. from Rutgers University (Douglas College) in 2006 and then her M.S. from Montclair State University in 2011. At the time of her death, Madelyn had been working as an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University.
Madelyn loved being an educator and believed that learning had to be an active and repetitive process. She loved to guide students through the learning process, not merely by supplying essential information, but by providing the means to acquire knowledge independently and to apply learned ideas in new situations. Madelyn helped her students achieve their goals by maintaining enthusiasm and thinking of creative ways to give students repeated exposure to the subject matter.
Madelyn is survived by her loving husband, her beloved mother, her devoted brother, her adored nephew, and SO MANY beloved friends and extended family.

Somos los amigos y familiares de Madelyn Gonzalez-Hladik, estudiante graduada en el 2001 de La Escuela Secundaria de Morristown (Morristown High School). Lastimosamente Madelyn falleció el 26 de Septiembre del 2015 pero nosotros queremos que su amor a la vida, sus ganas de seguir aprendiendo y su generoso y caritativo corazón sigan vivos por siempre.
El 100% de los fondos recaudados aquí serán aplicados directamente a El Regalo de Maddy (Maddy’s Gift), una beca universitaria que será fundada en la escuela de MHS.
El Regalo de Maddy será presentado en la ceremonia de entrega de premios el 31 de mayo del 2016 a una estudiante (o estudiantes) que quiera ejercer una carrera universitaria en las materias de Ciencias o Matemáticas. Como profesora y estudiante, Madelyn siempre estuvo motivada por su curiosidad por querer saber más. El Regalo de Maddy será otorgado a una o más estudiantes que demuestren su motivación y un rol activo en su educación.
Les pedimos su ayuda y que por favor nos ayuden a poder lograr o sobrepasar nuestra meta de $10,000 antes del 5 de febrero. Todos los fondos recaudados serán otorgados como becas universitarias a una o varias merecidas estudiantes.

Acerca de Madelyn
A Madelyn le encantaba la escuela. Ella quería muchísimo a sus profesores de secundaria y de la universidad ---Al igual que ellos la querían mucho! Habían muchas cosas las cuales le llegaban naturalmente a Madelyn como igualmente hubieron muchas cosas por las cuales ella luchó mucho. De todos modos, Madelyn nunca le tuvo miedo al tener que trabajar duro para conseguir algo que ella quería. Sin importar que tan fácil o difícil fueran las cosas, ella siempre traía alegría a todo lo cual perteneció: el voleibol, el equipo de STEP, los campamentos, los grupos anti-bullying al igual que muchas cosas más. Ella fue una gran amiga siempre dispuesta a escucharte. Ella fue una estudiante muy dedicada y nunca se dejaba atrasar en sus tareas. Ella fue una buen hija, hermana, prima, sobrina y por los últimos 10 años una gran tía. Su familia era lo más importante para ella en todo momento. Ella fue una gran bailarina, amante de la música y una fan de vivir la vida al máximo.
Después de graduarse de MHS, ella obtuvo su titulo universitario (B.A.) de Rutgers University (Douglass College) en el 2006 y después obtuvo su Maestría (M.S.) de Montclair State University en el 2011. Antes de partir, Madelyn era profesora en la Universidad de Montclair.
Madelyn amaba ser una educadora y siempre creyó que el aprendizaje era un proceso activo y
