My great-niece, Madison Read, 3-year-old daughter of my niece Julie and Ron Read, suffered a brain tumor at the age of 9 months and underwent a successful 11-hour surgery. Biopsy revealed that the tumor was an Ependymoma, one of the most aggressive brain tumors that can recur multiple times throughout her life. A new tumor was recently discovered and surgery was performed on January 20th by the same neurosurgeon that saved her life the first time and was again able to remove all of the tumor without any deficits. Treatment will be determined after visits to St. Jude's, Cincinnati's Children's Hospital, and any hospital throughout the U.S. that specializes or can offer newer or more aggressive treatments for this terrible tumor .
