Maddy needs ACL surgery on both back legs

We  adopted Maddy July of 2018 from a shelter when she was approx. 3 months old.   Not knowing her breed, we had her DNA screening processed and found out she is Husky, German Sheppard, American Staffordshire Terrier,  Border Collie and Boxer.  Needless to say, Maddy is full of vim and vigor!  She loves to play, run, swim, and tussle with her fur cousins.  A few  months ago while playing in the yard she came in limping.  We didn't think much of it, and thought she just tweaked it and  it would work its way out.  That wasn't the case.  We noticed that she favored her right back leg by walking on her toes and sitting sideways.  After a few weeks of limping we took her to her vet who did an initial exam and referred us to an orthopedic specialist.  Two weeks later we took her to the orthopedist who said Maddy had torn her CCL  in both back legs.  Her CCL in the right back leg is completely torn and the tear in her left leg occurred from her use and over compensating due to the injury of her right leg.  The orthopedist said however, it would be a matter of time before the left was fully torn.  She is on anti-inflammatory medication, as well as joint supplements.  She lays in her crate or her bed most of the day and when she needs to go out she barely puts weight on her  back legs and so we rig a sling around Maddy's waist and carry her outside so as not to put pressure on her back legs.  I woke up this morning and Maddy can no longer walk. She can only take a few steps and then will sit down or collapse.  At this point we really need to schedule the surgery.  We have insurance for Maddy but don't have the funds for the additional costs. The amount of $3500 covers the 10% deductible for the procedure, lab work, x-rays and post op medication.

Maddy is such a beautiful baby girl who is loving and caring to everyone.  She is a big part of our family and we want the best for her.   At 18 months old, she should be playing, taking walks and enjoying being a dog.  It is so heartbreaking to see her like this and she's still a puppy.  We would appreciate any help we receive to improve her quality of life.  If you read this and are unable to donate, please share with friends, family and pet lovers!
