Maddy's Story...

"Maddy was on chemo since last August without any significant issues. About a month ago she had some balance issues and was a little off. An MRI showed a new mass in the right frontal lobe. She was admitted for a few days, given steroids, got a little better and came home. After a week at home, she had a big decline. She went from talking and walking with a walker to bedridden and limited speech. She was admitted again, given an MRI and a biopsy. The tumor was aggressive and spreading quicker than they could treat. We were given the devastating news that there was nothing more the doctors could do. My heart is heavy and my soul is crushed. The Doctors moved her out of Neruo ICU and into a room at the Children’s Hospital."

"On Sunday, 10/20 at 11:20 PM we said goodbye to our sweet Maddy. She fought so hard but ultimately lost her battle with Cancer. Maddy was incredibly loved by many. Her last days were filled with family and close friends. We were by her bedside for her final days, she was never alone. We even got permission to bring in Maggie (her dog) to say goodbye. A huge thank you to our loved ones and community during this extremely difficult time." – Wendy Hochendoner, Maddy’s Mother.

Now that you know her story, we are asking for donations to help support Wendy with her celebration of life funeral expenses. Due to the nature of Maddy’s illness, Wendy has been unable to work for over a month now. Any contributions no matter how large or small will help Wendy ease the burden of such a sudden, devastating tragedy that no parent should ever have to endure.
