My name is Melissa; our family dog, Maddox, needs help. Maddox is a nine-year-old golden lab gentle giant. Over the last few months, a mass has grown on Maddox’s paw. It started small but is becoming larger every day. It has caused secondary infections, and he has been seen by multiple vets for it. A fine needle biopsy was done and came back with no malignancy detected, but the doctors still worry it could be cancer, so they want to get larger tissue samples to test. Even if it is not cancerous, as it continues to grow, it will affect his mobility and quality of life. We have been told that, in order to remove the mass without having to take the foot, surgery needs to be done soon. We have already invested thousands of dollars in his vet bills over the last few months, so coming up with the money for the surgery in a timely manner is going to be a difficult task without assistance. Maddox is a vital part of our family. He is well-behaved, loving, loyal, and a true companion. He enjoys walks, car rides (even to the vet), and the beach; and he loves his family (even the cats). It’s hard to ask for help with this, but this surgery is our only option. Anything you can do to help us keep Maddox healthy would be greatly appreciated.
