It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sudden and tragic death of Amanda Smith on April 21, 2023

After years of waiting, Amanda and Justin Smith welcomed miracle baby Maddox on April 20, 2023. On April 21, 2023 after visiting Maddox in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Amanda suddenly became short of breath requiring emergency care due an unexplained internal bleed. Despite the extensive efforts of the nurses and physicians at Joseph Brant Hospital, Amanda tragically died.

As Amanda's sister, I'm please asking for your support to help alleviate some of the financial burden for new dad Justin and baby Maddox as they navigate the weeks and months ahead. Understandably, managing funeral expenses, financially supporting Justin's time away from work and planning for Maddox's future education is now our top priority.

Amanda was 37 years old and wanted nothing more than to be a mother. She was so loved by her husband, parents and all of our extended family. Our hearts are completely shattered and still trying to make sense of this tragedy.

Addendum: we are so unbelievably touched by everyone's generosity and kind messages. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I have adjusted the goal to continue to help alleviate Justin and Maddox's future expenses as we settle Amanda's estate.
