*Meet Maddie*

Maddie is a very young girl who came to us from the pound after being found by a dog warden, desperately running through a busy area in clear distress. She was shut down, bleeding, and in visible agony.

We believe Maddie is just around 12 months old — still a baby — yet she’s already endured so much pain.

She was suffering from a severe case of *mange*, a debilitating skin condition caused by microscopic mites that burrow into the skin, leading to relentless itching, hair loss, inflammation, and painful, crusted sores.

When she arrived, Maddie was in such discomfort it was heartbreaking. The pound started treatment with antibiotics and steroids, and she’s already showing signs of improvement. However, her recovery will be ongoing — she will need continued medication and close monitoring to fully heal, both physically and emotionally.

Despite everything she’s been through, Maddie is incredibly sweet. She wants nothing more than to be loved and to simply enjoy being a dog. And we want that for her, too.

Thankfully, one of our amazing foster carers has opened their home and heart to Maddie. She is now safe and cared for, and will stay in foster for as long as needed.
