Maddie’s Journey: Seeking Hope and Support

Maddie is a remarkable woman whose resilience and warmth inspire everyone around her. Despite lifelong struggles with a learning disability, ADHD, and post-concussion syndrome from multiple injuries, she has faced her challenges with determination and grace.

As her symptoms worsened, Maddie spent many years being dismissed by healthcare providers, all while enduring extreme pain and personal hardships. In 2023, when her workplace went on strike, she was left homeless, sick, and still fighting for answers. After exhausting every option and with her health rapidly declining, she finally received her diagnosis of a rare Stage 3 gastrointestinal neuroendocrine cancer.

In a grueling 10.5-hour surgery, Maddie’s stomach was completely removed, along with parts of her digestive system and 32 lymph nodes, two of which tested positive for cancer. The surgery left her so weak and in pain that walking was a challenge. Yet Maddie’s strength and courage continue to shine as she rebuilds her life.

A month after her surgery, Maddie discovered that the cancer maybe coming from another source in her body. Since then, she has undergone countless tests and has been working closely with a team of specialists to navigate her complex medical journey.

Despite her perseverance, financial help has been hard to secure. Maddie’s cancer and unique medical needs require specialized food, vitamins, therapy, and treatments, but provincial assistance barely covers her bills. She now lives with her mother who works in retirement as a registered nurse to help financially.

Maddie dreams of accessing therapies that ease her pain, covering travel for treatments, and continuing her recovery with hope and dignity. Every donation would help with essentials like therapy, specialized care, and living expenses, giving her the chance to heal and regain independence.

By supporting Maddie, you’re not just helping her recover—you’re empowering her to continue inspiring others through her story and her strength. Let’s help Maddie find relief, rebuild her life, and look toward a brighter future.
