On June 27th, 2025, our beautiful daughter Madelyn “Maddie” May Lindie Bacon was born still at Cowra Hospital. Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, the care, compassion, and tenderness shown by the midwives made her birth a deeply meaningful and beautiful experience. Their support helped us find moments of peace and love in the midst of unimaginable loss.

In honour of Maddie’s memory, we want to give something back to the Cowra Hospital maternity ward — a heartfelt gift to support the amazing midwives and the families they care for.

We are raising funds to contribute towards meaningful or essential items or improvements at the hospital, in consultation with the maternity team.

Once the maternity team has helped identify what would be most meaningful and useful, funds will go directly toward making it happen.

We are personally contributing $500 to begin the fundraiser, and any additional funds beyond what’s needed will be donated to the Stillbirth Foundation Australia to support critical research into preventing stillbirth. No family should ever have to experience this heartbreak.

This fundraiser is our way of honouring Maddie’s brief but beautiful life and giving back to the place and people who helped make it sacred. We hope this will bring light to others.
