Callum is the two and a half-year-old, second cousin of Maddie. He was born in 2021 to Kate's cousin, Logan, and his wife, Mary, making him their first child. After birth, he was immediately admitted to the NICU for 7 weeks and shortly after received a diagnosis of refractory epilepsy, hypotonia, and several other health complications relating to a CACNA1C genetic mutation.

Over the last two and a half years, Logan and Mary have dedicated their lives to finding the right medical team to treat Callum's conditions & turning over every stone to give Callum the highest quality of life possible. They continue to see improvements in Callum's development through these efforts, although for now, he remains 100% dependent on his parents in all areas of his life.

Unfortunately, the therapies, providers, and even equipment that Callum requires to continue to improve are not always covered by insurance; leaving the Murphy family to pay out of pocket for expenses they could have never imagined.

This year, for Maddie's birthday in lieu of gifts, she would love it if you would consider making a donation to Callum. Maddie has formed an incredibly close bond with Callum & even made a trip with her Mimi to visit Callum in Kansas City this past summer. She helps with his gtube during meals, plays with him, and is already becoming quite the advocate for Callum & others like him.
